Woke up kind of late today.  Emily told me she was going to the ARA (American Recreation Association) again.  Maggie was going too so I figured I’d join.  As soon as we got there it started POURING.  The sky turned black and sheets of rain started coming down.  Maggie and I hung out and got breakfast and COFFEE and read and whatnot.  Emily studied for the GMAT.  Angelica came and we decided to watch a movie in the “movie room.”

Maggie and I selected Basquiat because I love Andy Warhol and heard about Basquiat because he and Warhol worked together.  Maggie heard the movie was good.

“Jean-Michel Basquiat (December 22, 1960 – August 12, 1988) was an American artist and the first African-American painter to become an international art star.[1] He gained popularity first as a graffiti artist in New York City, and then as a successful 1980s-era Neo-expressionist artist. Basquiat's paintings continue to influence modern-day artists and sell for high prices.”

BUT when we went to the movie room it was occupied.  It was still raining out so we decided to lay around and be lazy and watch TV.  We don’t have a TV in our compound…so it’s rare to be able to lay back and just relax.  We did that for a few hours…got dinner there too.  It was nice to just hang out and do nothing.

At night we went to our friend Andre and Juan Carlos’ house for a party.  Juan Carlos works for USAID and, WOW, government employees in third world countries get hooked UP!  They had the nicest apartment I’ve seen since I’ve been in Uganda.  When I was inside I felt like I was back in America.  I met a whole bunch of different expats.  It was a good time.  That’s all folks!
